Calling all witches, wizards, and magical creatures! This October half-term, Hatfield Park invites you to join us for a spook-tacular family Halloween adventure at Witches & Wizards Week.
From haunted woodland trails to wicked workshops, there is plenty for young witches and wizards to enjoy. Explore the Haunted Forest, where magical scenes and ghostly surprises await among the Woodland Walks, before decorating your own witch or wizard hat.
With plenty to discover and create, Witches & Wizards Week is a wonderful way to enjoy Hatfield Park.
Your Witches & Wizards Week ticket includes:
- Entry to the Park and the Haunted Forest Walk.
- One Witches & Wizards hat-decorating workshop.
- Your own decorated witch or wizard hat to wear on your adventure and take home.
Haunted Forest Walk
This October half-term, venture deep into the Haunted Forest, where things that go bump in the night can be spotted by day.
Hatfield Park’s Woodland Walks change with the seasons, and in autumn, they become the perfect atmospheric setting for a spooky adventure.
Follow the trail and discover bewitching creatures, magical scenes, and ghostly surprises among the trees, all created from recycled materials by Sarah Ruggeri, a talented member of our Park and Gardens Team.
The stunning woodland that surrounds Hatfield House is home to ancient oak, hornbeam, and beech trees, with centuries of history woven through the landscape and plenty of wildlife to spot along the way.
Keep your eyes open as you explore, using your activity sheet to collect the hidden letters along the trail and reveal the magic word.

The Haunted Forest Walk is included with your Witches & Wizards Week ticket.
Before your visit: As you enter the Haunted Forest, keep an eye on the path as well as the ghostly goings-on among the trees. The Woodland Walks can be grassy, uneven, and muddy, so please dress for the October weather and wear suitable footwear, such as wellies.
Witches & Wizards hat-decorating workshop
Whether you are a brave witch or a powerful wizard, no Halloween adventure is complete without the perfect hat.
Grab your little spellcasters, head to the Riding School, and let your imaginations run wild as you decorate your own witch or wizard hat to wear through the Haunted Forest and take home afterwards.
Led by Splodgers, specialists in children’s arts, crafts, and creative play, the workshop brings plenty of hands-on creativity to Witches & Wizards Week.
With plenty of inspiration from our crafting experts, each hat can take on a character of its own – from wonderfully witchy to perfectly spellbinding.
Drop-in workshops run from 11:00am – 4:00pm.
Last entry at 3:00pm.
Each Witches & Wizards Week ticket includes one hat-decorating workshop.

Parking
Guests arriving by car should enter via George’s Gate for the main visitors’ car park (AL9 5HX). Parking is free of charge.
