The Hatfield Rural Show is a celebration of country life, bringing together rural traditions, working animals, heritage machinery, skilled craftspeople and family entertainment within the beautiful surroundings of Hatfield Park.
Across the weekend, visitors can watch vintage vehicles and a working steam sawmill in action, enjoy lively arena displays and gun dog demonstrations, take part in hands-on nature workshops, and learn more about rural skills and countryside life through talks and demonstrations.
Younger visitors can meet some of Hertfordshire’s countryside favourites in the animal zone, while the classic fun fair, competitions and hands-on activities provide plenty more to see and do.

Vintage tractor display
Enjoy a spectacular arena display of vintage tractors, brought to life with live commentary from John Darin of Heart Radio and The Rustic Rambler, who will share their history and most fascinating features. Later, take the opportunity to admire these beautifully restored machines up close in the showcase.
Classic funfair
No country show or summertime celebration would be complete without a classic funfair. Gather friends and family and enjoy beloved attractions such as the iconic Ferris wheel, a charming merry-go-round, bungee trampolines and classic swinging boats.
Animal zone
Get up close with a variety of beautiful four-legged farmyard friends, including sheep, pigs, Jersey cows and Shire horses.
Children’s Tug of War
Are you strong enough to pull a tractor? Find out in this child-friendly tug-of-war.
Mini Rovers
Little drivers can take the wheel of their own replica Series 2 Land Rover on a dedicated off-road course. Mini Rovers is suitable for children aged 4–10 years, with each child required to be accompanied by an adult. An additional supplementary fee applies.
Gun dog displays
Be amazed by the remarkable skill, intelligence and precision of working gun dogs in this thrilling live display, followed by a fun and fast-paced gundog scurry.
Meet nine different sheep breeds and learn more about farming in this lively stage show. Featuring fascinating facts, a live sheep-shearing demonstration and even some sheep dancing, it offers entertaining countryside fun for all ages.
Classic car and vintage lorry display
Discover an impressive collection of classic cars and vintage lorries, from beautifully preserved antiques to much-loved favourites. This showcase is a must-see for enthusiasts, collectors and families alike.
Pedal Tractor Area
Perfect for aspiring young farmers, this pedal tractor area gives children the opportunity to take the wheel and explore the world of farming from the driver’s seat.
Hands-on nature workshops
Get creative with twigs, pinecones and other natural materials as you make bird feeders and craft cosy bug hotels for your smallest garden visitors.
Bark in the Park
Why not enter your furry friend into our Bark in the Park dog show? Featuring classes such as Best in Show, Best Puppy, Best Veteran, Best Trick or Talent, Waggiest Tail, and Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home. £2 entry fee per class – please pay at the Hatfield Rural Show information booth on the day. All proceeds in aid of Countryside Learning.
Arts and crafts
Don’t forget to browse vibrant craft stalls showcasing hand-crafted goods, from ceramics and candles to preserves and jewellery.
Across the weekend’s programme will be a series of educational sessions geared towards young people, but open to all who are interested.
