& operations
Hatfield has been subject to centuries of carefully considered stewardship. In this age of increased environmental awareness and the threats associated with climate change, practices across the Estate are being reviewed to ensure that property, farming, soil health, hedges and trees, and general land management practices are fit for purpose.
This includes increasing soil carbon through grass in the farming rotation, using more electric battery-powered equipment, and making use of materials found or foraged from around the Estate for seasonal displays.
This approach also includes the use of sheep, robot mowers, and large mowers to manage different areas of the Estate, helping to support a more diverse range of plants and wildlife.

Hatfield Park is working with independent advisers to understand the full extent of its current operations and reduce its climate impact. This includes sustainable heating technologies such as air source and ground source heat pumps, green energy production, solar technology, and energy storage, as well as helping tenants and residents make climate positive choices.
Hatfield Park also continues to operate a sustainable visitor experience by encouraging cycling, providing recycling facilities, refilling reusable water bottles, and using local vegetables and herbs grown within the Estate.
