The Hatfield Rural Show

This summer, enjoy a taste of rural life at The Hatfield Rural Show.

From vintage vehicles to a live working sawmill, educational sessions to hands-on craft workshops, there’s something for the whole family.

Get up close with some furry and feathery friends in our animal tent, enjoy a classic fun fair, and catch thrilling gundog displays. Join us for a countryside celebration you won’t want to miss.

Vintage Tractor Display

Watch a stunning parade of vintage tractors in our arena, featuring live commentary on their history and features. Then, take a closer look at these beautifully restored machines at our vintage tractor showcase.

 

Arts and Crafts Tent

Unleash your creativity as you enjoy live demonstrations, take part in engaging hands-on workshops, and explore vibrant craft stalls showcasing beautiful ceramics, candles, pressed flowers, preserves, botanical jewellery, handmade cards, knitted goods, and more.

 

Animal Tent

Get up close with a variety of four-legged friends, including sheep, guinea pigs, and a Suffolk Punch horse, along with feathered farmyard favourites such as ducks and chickens.

 

Classic Car and Vintage Lorry Display

Marvel at a stunning collection of vintage and classic vehicles. From beautiful antiques to unforgettable classics, this showcase is a must-see for enthusiasts and families alike.

 

The Great Hatfield Park Raffle

Win a selection of prizes, including tickets to our exclusive tours of Hatfield House, private Old Palace tours, beekeeping experiences, and head gardener tours — plus season tickets, family passes to the House, Park, and Gardens, and our Hatfield Park hamper.

Entry: £1 per ticket.

All proceeds in aid of Countryside Learning.

 

Classic Funfair

Featuring beloved attractions such as the iconic Ferris wheel, a charming merry-go-round, and classic swinging boats.

 

Children’s Tug of War

Are you strong enough to pull a tractor? Find out in this child-friendly tug-of-war.

 

Educational Sessions

A series of educational sessions geared toward young people, but open to all.

Live Working Sawmill Demonstration

Experience a live working sawmill in action and enjoy captivating insights into the history of sawmills and how modern practices have evolved, all from our sawmill specialist.

Beekeeping Stand

Join our beekeeping expert and explore the lifecycle and role of bees in our ecosystem.

Tractor Talk

Learn about our terrific tractors, how they are used on rural estates, and the different contemporary machinery that has helped shape today’s farming and agriculture.

Suffolk Punch Talk

A fascinating feature on the history of the Suffolk Punch on rural estates, and a chance to get up close with one of these critically endangered horses.

Gardening Stand

Visit our gardening team to discover the role of remarkable robotics on the estate, as well as clever tips for cultivating plants productively in a greenhouse.

 

Gundog Display

Experience the remarkable abilities of gundogs in this showcase of canine intelligence, precision and skill.

 

Hands-On Nature Workshops

Use twigs, pinecones, and other natural materials to create bird feeders and craft cozy bug hotels for your tiny garden guests.

 

Bark In The Park

Join us for a tail-wagging treat at our inaugural Bark In The Park dog show. Featuring classes such as Best in Show, Best Puppy, Best Veteran, Best Trick or Talent, Waggiest Tail, Gundog, Hound, Working Dog, Terrier, Toy, Crossbreed, and Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home.

Entry: £2 per class

All proceeds in aid of Countryside Learning.

Open to visitors of The Hatfield Rural Show and payable at The Hatfield Rural Show information booth on the day.

 

Food and Drink Concessions

Enjoy great food and drink from a variety of vendors, including farm-to-plate food from Ragmarsh Farm and Sausage Co, as well as several on-site bars.
