Learn to draw dogs in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Join Dee from Slumbering Hound for a series of six weekly Drawing Dogs Workshops, beginning on Thursday 17th September.
Across the six weeks, participants will explore a range of drawing techniques and materials while developing their skills and confidence. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous experience, the workshops offer a structured yet informal environment in which to learn and create.

A different focus each week
Each workshop explores a new subject, technique or material, with the series covering a range of mediums including pencil, pastels, watercolours, charcoal, pens and markers, and inks. While the sessions are designed to complement one another, each class can also be enjoyed independently, making it easy to attend a single workshop or the full series.
Guided sessions
Workshops last between 90 minutes and two hours. All materials and refreshments are provided. Participants simply need to bring a photograph of the dog they would like to draw and a willingness to experiment with new techniques.
Dee established Slumbering Hound more than twelve years ago, creating handmade products for dogs from her dining table before moving into her shop in Hatfield Park’s Stable Yard in January 2020.
During lockdown, she returned to drawing and developed a new creative direction alongside the business. Today, her work includes illustrated cards and gifts, bespoke commissions, and the popular Drawing Dogs Workshops.
Drawing on years of experience, Dee shares practical techniques and creative approaches that help participants gain confidence and enjoyment from drawing, whatever their level of experience.

Sessions take place at 4.30pm and 6.30pm in the Slumbering Hound shop in the Stable Yard, the Upper Solar in the Old Palace or the Riding School.
Participants will be emailed the location for their session the day before the class.
