Learn the fundamentals
Each session will begin with the basics, introducing footwork, attack and defence before putting your new skills into practice through a series of engaging fencing challenges.
Expert coaching for all ages
Sessions are led by experienced coaches who create a supportive and encouraging environment for every participant. Designed with beginners in mind, these sessions are suitable for both adults and children aged four and over.
A setting worth the trip alone
You’ll be fencing in the Great Hall of the Old Palace, the surviving wing of the Tudor palace built in 1485, where Elizabeth I spent her childhood. It’s the room where the new Queen held her first Council of State in November 1558.
Paul Davis Fencing Academy is one of the UK’s fastest-growing fencing academies.
Based in St Albans, it has been introducing children, young people and adults to the sport for more than 15 years. Over 1,200 fencers train with the Academy every week across more than 50 schools, with a firm focus on making fencing accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Its coaches work with fencers at every level, from first-timers to internationals. The Academy has been named British Fencing Club of the Year four times, out of around 400 fencing clubs across the UK.
Saturday 5th September, 10am to 5pm, with the last session starting at 4:30pm.
Sessions run in 30-minute slots in the Great Hall of the Old Palace. There’s a roped-off viewing area, so anyone not fencing can watch.
Fencing sessions are ticketed separately and don’t include admission to Fantasy Forest.
Try something new, discover the thrill of fencing and see a different side of Hatfield this September.
