The Rainbow Portrait Has Returned
We are excited to announce that the famous Tudor portrait has returned. The Rainbow Portrait which usually faces the entrance to the Marble Hall had been part of an exciting exhibition at Hampton Court Palace. Visitors to The Lost Dress of Elizabeth I exhibition had the opportunity to see the Bacton Altar Cloth, a rare survival of an Elizabethan dress worn by Elizabeth I and the iconic Rainbow Portrait together.
The Rainbow Portrait features in our brand new exhibition for 2020 “The Man Behind England’s Golden Age – 500th Anniversary of the birth of Lord Burghley”, our new season begins on Saturday 4th April 2020.
