“We want every gin to distill the spirit and history of the place which inspired it.” With Spirit of Hertfordshire, each wild botanical is chosen both for the story it tells and the flavour it brings.
With gin-making, Richard Daniel has allowed an early-retirement hobby to become an all-consuming passion and second career. He even rebuilt and refurbished their historical Victorian stable building by hand.
Resident forager Richard Osmond gathers many botanicals from the hedgerows and ancient woodlands which surround the distillery. Their gins showcase the amazing flavour potential of these ingredients in all kinds of traditional and experimental ways.
