HATFIELD HOUSE – THE HOME OF HISTORY
Built from 1607-11 by Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury, and splendidly decorated for entertaining the Royal Court, Hatfield House has state rooms rich in paintings, fine furniture and tapestries.
You’ll see sumptuous Jacobean craftsmanship throughout Hatfield House, such as the Grand Staircase’s exquisite carving and the private chapel’s stunning stained-glass window. Many historic mementoes collected by the Cecil’s, one of England’s foremost political families, adorn its interior.
“My first visit to Hatfield House, what a treasure this is. Our group had a guided tour of the house and our guide was superb – so knowledgeable. The house is beautiful and lovingly preserved and it is a real thrill to walk through history.” TripAdvisor Review
