SUMMARY:Wines of South Africa Summer Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Join Cellar Door Wines in The Riding School at Hatfield Park for an afternoon filled with vibrant South African atmosphere. There will be a jazz band inside\, traditional Zulu dancers performing in The Stable Yard and authentic South African street food by Now Now Chow. Taste over 100 wines from every region and style in the Cape Winelands. \nHaving just about recovered from a three year drought\, the South African wine industry was hit by government COVID restrictions including a ban on alcohol production\, sales and export twice in 2020 and then again in 2021. Post COVID\, South Africa continues to face significant challenges with an economic recession and a massive electricity deficit. However\, the strength and resilience of South Africans remains and the quality of wine being produced has never been better. We invite you to support SA producers by attending this event and buying their fantastic wine. \nWe are very proud of our South African wine range which spans all of the key Western Cape regions of Stellenbosch\, Paarl\, Franschhoek\, Elgin\, Wellington\, Swartland\, Darling Hills and Hemel en Aarde. \nIn the lead up to the event\, we have chosen to highlight the work of two charitable organisations: WildHearts Foundation Africa and HeadStart Trust . Representatives from both of these foundations will be there on the day to tell us about their initiatives and how we in the UK can contribute. Cellar Door Wines will be donating 10% of ticket sales to these organisations. \nYour £36 ticket includes sampling of over 100 wines\, a snack pack of biltong or vegetarian alternative and entertainment throughout the afternoon. \nThese are just a few of the producers you will get to experience: Babylonstoren\, Waterkloof\, Zorgvliet\, Iona\, Raats\, Doran Vineyards\, Groote Post\, Drift Estate\, De Grendel\, Andreas\, Diemersfontein\, Neil Ellis\, KWV Mentors\, Boekenhoutskloof\, Daschbosch\, Wildeberg\, De Wetshof\, Le RicheLaibach. \nSouth African Food: Jane White from Now Now Chow will be selling her famous Babotie and Bunny Chow from her stall which will be positioned just outside our shop in the stable yard. Informal seating will be available nearby to enjoy your food. Vegetarian options will be available. \nTraditional Zulu Dancers will be performing at various intervals during the afternoon\, inside the The Riding School and in the Stable Yard. \nThere will be a Jazz Quartet playing in background\, so do listen out for some special South African Kwela and Penny Whistle sounds. \nThe aim of the day is to showcase the best of South Africa. \nThis is a walkabout wine tasting held over two floors in the Riding School Venue in the Stable Yard at Hatfield House. On arrival you will be checked in and given a Riedel Glass\, an order booklet\, a pen and a small pack of biltong or vegetarian equivalent. The wine samples will be poured and explained to you by our South African wine experts at their tables. We will give you a wrist band which will allow you to move in and out of the Riding School to buy food and explore the Stable Yard. Unfortunately you cannot take your glass outside\, however\, you can buy wine by the glass from our shop\, where there will be seating inside and outside for you to sit and relax(hopefully it will be a lovely sunny day!)

SUMMARY:Simply Red
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that Mick Hucknall’s iconic band\, Simply Red\, along with special guest\, Lisa Stansfield\, will be joining us on 7th August 2022. \nSee FAQ’s here. \nFew bands have enjoyed the success and longevity of Simply Red. With over 60 million albums sold worldwide\, 5 x UK #1 hit albums and over a billion views on YouTube\, Simply Red remain one of the UK’s most successful bands. Their most recent album ‘Blue Eyed Soul’ was released in November 2019 and crashed into the UK charts at #6\, proving Simply Red to be as relevant as ever. \nMick Hucknall formed Simply Red in 1985 in Manchester and enjoyed immediate success with first single ‘Money’s Too Tight To Mention’ and the BRIT Award-nominated album ‘Picture Book’ (the first of 13 nominations\, and 3 BRIT Award wins). This was followed by a decade of superstardom and global hits. Simply Red were nominated for 3 prestigious Grammy Awards and continue to consistently sell out tours across the globe. \nTheir live show is renowned for its high quality with Mick Hucknall long-established as one of the great vocalists of contemporary music. His raw honey and whiskey tone\, and ability to shift from tender sensuality to full on roaring power in a heartbeat\, is guaranteed to bring the biggest of crowds together to create an unmissable atmosphere. \nMusic fans will be in for a real treat as Lisa Stansfield also takes to the stage as part of these huge live music events. After being introduced to Coldcut in 1989\, her guest vocals helped ‘People Hold On’ storm the charts and led to a solo career which saw the Rochdale star conquer the world with her accessible soulful dance music. She went on to win 3 BRIT Awards\, 2 Grammy nominations\, and enjoy a string of hits\, including worldwide #1 smash\, ‘All Around The World’\, on her way to selling over 20 million albums. A proven talent\, Lisa Stansfield is sure to get the crowds up and dancing. \nMarisha Wallace has enjoyed great success on Broadway and in London’s West End. She starred in ‘Something Rotten’ ‘Dreamgirls’\, and ‘Waitress’\, took on the role of Motormouth Maybelle in ‘Hairspray’ and most recently starred in box office hit movie ‘Aladdin’. She also stars in Netflix hit show ‘Feel Good’ alongside Mae Martin and Lisa Kudrow. The Simply Red summer dates are an unmissable opportunity to catch an artist who was undoubtedly born to perform and entertain. \nHailing from North Carolina\, Marisha is known around the world for her incredible voice. Her cover version of ‘Tomorrow’ from the musical ‘Annie’\, released at the peak of the pandemic to raise funds for out of work performers\, saw her topping music charts. BBC Radio 2 added her to the playlist and made her ‘Tomorrow’ album their ‘Album Of The Week’. As her star continues to rise\, Marisha has performed on This Morning\, Strictly Come Dancing and for the Queen at the Royal Variety Show. \nMarisha Wallace is a natural performer with irrepressible energy and a voice which can bring any crowd to its feet.
