 Group visits are welcome from Easter Saturday to the end of September. Please note: The House, Park & Garden is closed on Monday & Tuesday except Bank Holiday Monday. The Park and West Garden are open from 11am to 5.30pm Wednesday - Sun & BH Monday (open daily in August). The House is open from 12 noon to 4pm. Pre-booked admission for groups of 20 or more to the house, park and garden is £10.
On Thursdays the East Garden is open at an extra charge of £4 per person, payable on arrival if you prefer. [Please note that the East Garden will be open on Wednesday, not Thursday in 2011 onwards.]
Visitors tour the house at their own pace with well-informed guides positioned in each room along the route. If your group would like a guided tour, this can be booked in advance at a charge of £20, max 30 people. The licensed self-service restaurant has space to accommodate all visitors although a reserved area can sometimes be booked for group meals (telephone the Coach House Restaurant on 01707 262030).
There is plenty of free parking for cars and coaches. Coach drivers are given a complimentary meal voucher.
The gift shop, model soldiers exhibition, children's play area, picnic site and parkland with marked walks all add to the enjoyment of a visit to Hatfield House.
Corporate and private parties, marriage ceremonies, wedding receptions, banquets and other events are held throughout the year in the Riding School and in the Old Palace -circa 1485 (telephone Hatfield House Hospitality on 01707 262055 or go to Hospitality section). There is an extensive and varied events programme the details of which are posted on this site and constantly updated. The major events are particularly recommended to group organisers.
